LORNA’S LIST JULY 12TH 2019

I have to apologise for the tardiness in getting this up! I had a bit of a hectic week and I ended up styling a shoot unexpectedly. Anyway here it is! From a fashion show in my college, to trying my hand at a new skill I’ve had quite the eclectic week of activities as well as discovering a few knew bits and bobs that I’ve become quite fond of.

BROWN THOMAS AUTUMN WINTER 2019

It’s the highlight of our fashion calendar in Ireland. And this season Brown Thomas moved their highly anticipated show outside of the store for the first time. Back in the examinations hall in Trinity College, where I sat many an exam, was the exquisite venue for showcasing beautiful creations from Prada, Dior and the like. New labels made a debut such as 16 Arlington, Jil Sander and Instagram favourite, Rotate. To get a feel for the trends, think checks (suiting and coats mainly), grungy aesthetics thanks to Prada, and a more fitted silhouette from Givenchy and Versace. Here are some of my favourite looks:

Autumn Winter 2019 explores romantic, vibrant and gothic themes with a return to the mystical. It is a season that welcomes the perfect balance of minimalism and maximalism and exciting newness across a diverse mix of trends such as Tough Love, Purist, La Vie En Rose, Out of Office, Daylight Disco, New Femininity, Urban Explorer and So Bourgeois. Brown Thomas welcomes hotly coveted brands including Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs, Yves Salomon, Paco Rabanne, Nicole Benisti, and 16 Arlington – an edit of the new brands for AW19.Photo: Leon Farrell/Photocall Ireland.

AT HOME TREATMENTS

I started to allocate Tuesday nights to doing some kind of self-care. That is usually a pre-tan scrub, facial scrub or mask. That one night a week that just gives you back some time to yourself. My current favourites are Ole Henricksen Cold Plunge Mask that is idea for combination skin that tends to break out. It’s so blue in colour it’s gas. It feels so cooling on your skin and mine absolutely loves it. I also love Lancer products too, a little more expensive but super luxurious.

H&M’s LATEST

Lorna Weightman wearing white cord jacket and skirt from H&M

I was styling a shoot last week and one of my stops to pick up looks was H&M and I was so excited about their new collections. So much so, I picked up this cord jacket and skirt that was so reasonable. I can wear them separately as well as a suit. Winning.

EMAILS?

I have a question for you all as well. I am thinking of sending out a weekly news letter with some exclusive content that only subscribers will get. Is that something you would sign up to? Let me know in the comments below!

TAKING SHADE

I am obsessed with Raybans right now and my latest purchase was the hexagonal shape. I find they suit my face shape as well as giving amazing protection on my eyes. I squint a lot in the sun and these are a super size for blocking out the light. They are available online, here is the link! I am also wearing them in the pic above!

Have a great week!
