4 FACE SERUMS I LOVE

It’s been a while, I know. Honestly, it was hard to write anything over the last few months. I lost my mojo a bit and decided to focus on myself, and some self-care rather than impart any musings which I didn’t see as a productive use of my time. But now. I am returned. And with what? Well, thankfully, beauty launches didn’t stop during lockdown. There were some super new products brought to market at the right time if you ask me. My skin has been dehydrated and any stress I was feeling started to show through. I was very fortunate to receive some samples to try out and I have narrowed down my list of face serums to just four that I think are worth your time. Under each product I’ll list the RRP (it might vary) and why it wins.

Lancome Hydra Zen Anti Stress Glow Liquid Moisturiser

RRP: €51 for 50ml and available in Ireland at Brown Thomas, Arnotts, and Lancome Retailers. Online at LookFantastic.com

Wins because: Literally instant hydration from this face serum you can feel within a second of application. It’s a light weight liquid, so less is more and it gives nice glow too. My skin feels moisturised and soft for days after it. Also works well as a nice primer before make up. Has lots of goodness in it including amino acids, aloe vera and rose extract.

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum

RRP: €24.95 approx. Available in pharmacies and buy online at LookFantastic who do multi buy discounts too.

Wins because: I am a big LRP fan anyway; my cult product being Effaclar Duo that turned my skin texture around in about a week (this is the link to it, it’s brilliant if you have bumpy skin or acne scars). This serum is the ultimate hydrator and you can wear it easily under a moisturiser without a product build up. Also, the price point is just brilliant for such a sophisticated product.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair

RRP: From €67.95 for 30ml at counters and online here

Wins because: Turn back time in a jar basically. Super absorbent and if you are worried about sagging then this face serum is for you. A new formula just released last week it helps to renew your skin over night. Definitely helped my skin’s elasticity. Heavier consistency to be aware of.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Serum Crystal Elixir

RRP: €72 available at Brown Thomas and Arnotts in Ireland and online at Net A Porter.

Wins because: I love her anyway, but I got this at the start of lockdown and put it on immediately. If your skin feels dry when you wake up, pop this on and it’s sorted. Has lots of vitamins and plant extracts. Also, very light. Skin does feel firmer and it gives a good glow too.
