I know I am so sorry but I have to mention the word: Autumn. It’s the beginning of August and it’s raining so no better day to chat about a piece you need and that’s the trench coat. Thanks to Burberry (have you seen their new logo?) we can make the trench a part of the chicest, runway inspired look.

But you don’t really need to get the designer style to get to the look either so here’s how: 

I posted a pic of my new Primark trench coat that was a steal at €30. And since getting this I have learned a few little tips I need to share before you buy.

Try a new colour

We think trench we think cream or neutral tones. Try a khaki; it’s chic and less ordinary. 

Length is key

Midi is a the most common length, but if you are petite or just want something shorter, then go for a hip length coat

Swap the belt

The belt gives that much loved definition we crave; don’t be afraid to change up the belt from the one that comes with for an alternative styling option

Keep is casual

I love wearing a trench over jeans and t-shirts for a transitional look before we hit the cold. 

Try layering

I love layering; try a hoodie or even a blazer under a trench to give it a little street style vibe
