It’s getting cold isn’t it? Well, no better time to light the fire and pop on your favourite woolly sweater! I’m always cold at this time of year, and even last night I had to dive into the “Winter” drawer to pick out some sweaters to wear. Ireland does Autumn really well, as we have that colder, crisp weather that suits AW17 fashion to a tee. Knitwear is having a moment, and even if you hit the high street, you’ll see wool appearing earlier in the season than normal.
When choosing a knit, there are a couple of styling options you can consider. I love layering and one thing I have taken from street style at various fashion weeks is layering a chunky knit over a mid-length pleated skirt. It looks so chic, and you can go for ankle or knee high boots with this outfit to go all out glam. My staple look is an oversize knit, with high waisted skinny jeans, ankle boots and some form of hat. I think this season, the baker boy cap and beret will be my two hats of choice. Thanks Bella Hadid for the style notes on that one. Sometimes wool can add volume (well it is thicker) so make sure you keep your body in proportion – if you wear oversize on top, keep it fitted on the bottom and vice versa. That’s not unique to knits either, it’s a style tip I give all the time. Now, fancy doing a spot of shopping? Well check out my edit of knits below!
