It’s getting to that time of year again when the Winter wardrobe needs planning. One thing I always wonder is how to style a polo neck, a sweater type I have always loved. The only thing is that it can look a bit unflattering depending on how you wear them, so I decided to try a few ways to wear this week.
The polo neck you see in the pics is from Penneys and one I wore quite a lot throughout London Fashion Week. But I got quite hot wearing it running from show to show, so I decided to re-shoot my images at home with my entire closet at my disposal. As polo necks are a warmer jumper option, on crisp days, you don’t really need a jacket. So step in the waistcoat. I love long-line waistcoats and I think they can look super chic with the trusty polo.
As the waistcoat is floaty, I need to balance my lower half where I carry most of my weight. So skinny jeans are the perfect choice. And to avoid looking too dark, I’ve gone for grey this year. I’m a bit sick of wearing head to toe black; it’s a safe option and it’s my “skinny” colour, but I’ve gotta change it up.
One of the great things about this Penneys polo neck is it’s colour range. I’m in the cream version here, but it also comes in taupe and black should you prefer these! So how to style a polo neck doesn’t have to be so hard! I’m going to practice a lot more with them this winter.

I have a few more London Fashion Week posts with Penneys to come later in the week!
