Easy Makeup Tutorial for Blue Eyes

Easy Makeup Tutorial for Blue Eyes

I have very blue eyes. Sometimes they almost look aquamarine and I find it hard to do eye make up that flatters them. So I’ve done some research on makeup looks that I know will work, and are not too difficult to achieve. This is an easy makeup tutorial for blue eyes, but I reckon it will suit any colour based on the natural tones I chose to apply. I’m not going to go into too much detail on the skin, this blog post is all about the eyes! First up, I applied Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials in Glittering Nude all over my eye lid. I have oily lids so this is a great product for keeping it in place. Taking a flat eye shadow brush, I apply the No.1 Eye Highlight from Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Look in a Palette. I cannot get enough of this palette since I got it last week. Aside from the expected fabulousness of the individual products, it’s perfect for travelling thanks to it’s handy and compact size. Oh Charlotte, you’re so clever! I use Fleur de Force eye shadow quad in Comic Bronze for some shading (I don’t know if this is still available, I bought it ages ago, but another dark matte brown is perfect too). Using a blending brush (MAC 217 is my favourite), take the dark brown and apply to the crease. This initially looks like a big thick line of brown but bear with me. Blend, blend and then blend some more, taking the colour outwards. Then taking a small liner brush apply the same colour to the lash line. So now you have this sideways “V”. Then using my finger I apply the Mink Shimmer shade from Fleur’s palette and start from the inner corner and cover the lid with this shimmer.

To line, I love Clarins Stylo 4 Coleaurs and choose the black liner and apply a very thin line super close to my lash line. I coat my lashes with Rimmel’s Volume Colourist mascara before adding individual lashes to the outer lashes for a fluttering effect. I love Penneys lashes for just €1.50 and I apply these with Duo glue and a tweezers (this is a recently honed skill!)

And that’s it! It’s a super easy makeup tutorial for blue eyes that I think can be achieved using the above colours from any brand!
