BLOGMAS Day 6 and 7 CHRISTMAS EVENTS AND PARTY WEAR

I love getting dressed up and party wear is in abundance this season. I have had a busy week but I have been invited to some lovely things after work which have given cause to get my glad rags on! Wednesday night was a fabulous Cartier party to celebrate the collection of watches on display (you can buy them too) at Weir & Sons on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Cartier are the most luxurious brand in the world and I was so thrilled to be asked. Next up on Thursday was two events starting with the launch of the La Perla exhibition at Brown Thomas which runs until December 13th. La Perla, being famous for its exquisite lingerie was established in the 1950s and has the most beautiful archive of pieces, some of which are on display in the Lingerie Rooms at BT. My favourites being for the celebration of 50 years in business when the brand collaborate with Jean-Paul Gaultier. Then it was downstairs to the Louis Vuitton store for their Christmas drinks. I have worked with LV for many years on some lovely collaborations and they have always been so kind to me to allow me wear some of their pieces to events. I have my eye on some earrings which I think I might visit in the store next week. I spent a lovely morning with the wonderful team from Jo Malone London to launch their beautiful Christmas fragrances which are always the most beautiful present. They have two limited edition fragrance bottles exclusive to Brown Thomas for an extra special gift this year. And who would say no to a candle? Not me. I love them.

Getting dressed up is fun but choosing the right outfit takes some time. I always choose a few key items; black boots, LBD for all occasions, a faux fur jacket or statement coat and a skirt that will work with lots of different tops. I got these Dune Boots last month and they are so comfortable thanks to the block heel. I’ve been wearing them a lot and were worth the investment. If you love faux fur as much as I do then Penneys and New Look should your go to shops to pick up affordable pieces that you can wear over Christmas. I also recently tried out some flares this week and the most amazing pair came from AQAQ based in London. I reckon the shape of these make them very special.
