Beauty Buys!

Beauty reviews

I love starting the year checking out all the latest beauty buys and in this blog post I’ve picked out some of my favourites of 2014 so far, whether you are on a budget, want to treat yourself or just need to add something new to your make up bag, I have some really awesome products for you!

Beauty buys ireland

First up it’s the Chic Treat Club which has just launched! A beauty subscription service with lot’s of payment options, what makes this one rather good is the size of the items in the box! The first box has hair products from Kevin Murphy, mascara from US brand Wet ‘n’ Wild which is just about to launch in Ireland, nail stickers as well as my favourite item in the box, lip balm from Episilk which has kept my flu-ridden chapped lips in great condition this week thanks to that magic ingredient, hyaluronic acid! Check out the website for all the details! Three months start at €44.95.

If you are on a budget, you cannot go wrong with NYC! I treat this entire range like my little heroes as they save me from so many make up disasters! The matte foundation (available in 4 shades) is one of the best foundations I have used (and I tried it on the telly and it really is matte!) which is just €3.99/£2.99. You will see in the above pic, I have tried some of their best products this week including, the face powder which works like a dream with the matte foundation, cheek glow blush (it is a really good highlighter too!), high definition mascara and kiss gloss! All of the above products cost less than €4/£3. So you can practically create a whole make up bag for about €15/£14. Talk about best beauty buys, well then this one is the proof of the best value buys too.

Lastly, we all love a treat and this new product from YSL will have your lips watering for it! YSL Gloss Volutpe is the mother of all lip glosses. The shine lasts, the colour is rich and most importantly it’s not sticky! The applicator is the unique selling point here, it’s the oddest shape but applies the gloss evenly and picks up just enough to cover both lips so there is no waste. The gloss comes in 23 different shades and the one above is number 202, a light pink perfect for day time wear. I layered it over a darker lip stain while filming Xposé this week and it looked great when I watched the footage. YSL is available at department stores, including Brown Thomas and Selfridges.
