Do you watch New Girl? I do, and I love Zooey Deschanel, so I’m just slightly over the moon that she has collaborated with iconic designer, Tommy Hilfiger on a super girlie/cute/all-things-Zooey collection aptly titled, “To Tommy, From Zooey”.
“Working with Tommy on this capsule collection has been really amazing,” said Zooey Deschanel. “I am a fashion fanatic and always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe. Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations—old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons—and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.”
All the dresses in the collection have the short hems first made famous and fashionable by iconic models of the era like Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton and favored by the actress herself. Color-blocking adds graphic impact to the line-up, made with a mixture of classic materials like pique and oxford cloth, modish prints, silks and linens. The summery feeling that breezes through the “To Tommy, From Zooey” collection reflects the optimism and youthful spirit at the heart of the iconic brand, celebrated for its eccentric authenticity and irreverent take on prep.
Celebs collaborate with designers all the time, but what makes this one different, is personality. Zooey has a great one, and she has injected every ounce of it into each piece. Wear like Jess, that’s what I say.
