I have attempted to create the ultimate fashion playlist for years now. I’ve asked my contemporaries, I’ve done the research and I think I have found my top five. Why am I doing this? Well you see, I was recently given a pair of Monster DNA headphones, which have reignited my interest in music. I am spending hours on Spotify and Soundcloud listening to tunes, past and present, which have a whole new meaning through the medium of a great set of headphones. What’s so great about them? Monster DNAs are not only bang on trend, but the sleek design also redefines sound quality for music lovers and entertainment enthusiasts alike. Rooted in the technology behind music, Monster is dedicated to improving the music listening experience. Monster DNA Headphones offer a fresh new look for fashion-conscious music lovers, while also creating phenomenal sound quality with its comfortable advanced noise isolating cushions which are designed to lock in sound so you can listen for hours and hours without disturbing anyone around you! So if you want to know what’s on my fashion playlist, read on!
In no particular order:
“All your gold” (Hercules Remix), Bat for Lashes
The original version did nothing for me but this mix is the ultimate track for a fashion show, from the chords at the start to the beat. I love it.
“Song for Lisa” (Benny Benassi Remix), Japanese Popstars
A brilliant dance tune, with the advantage of the added baseline that Benassi brings to this mix. Say hello to the synthesiser.
“Shutterbug” Big Boi featuring Cutty
Certainly not an obvious tune, but has the right beat that you can imagine Jourdan and Cara stomping down the catwalk. Kind of an ironic title too considering have the world’s fashion photographers are at the end of it to snap them. Has to be in my fashion playlist.
“Bow Down”, Beyoncé
Not even officially released and and rumoured to be a glimpse into her fifth solo album, Bow Down is the ulimate girlie tune. Love the base line, love the words, love Beyoncé. Already has five million hits on you tube. Nuff said.
“Pass that Dutch”, Missy Elliot
We got an amazing Bose sound system as a wedding present and no song sounds like this one does booming out of a subwoofer that would break glass. Missy at her best, and gosh how I would love to choreograph a show to this one. Has to be an ultimate tune on every fashion playlist out there.
And that’s it, it’s only five, but five favourites of mine. Have a listen and think about what you would add to the ultimate fashion playlist.
