Too many trends! Too many trends! Argh. I just can’t decide which trends I like the most at the moment. I think so far into SS15, we are having one very strong season. I’m not usually a fan of style at this time of the year; I love the elegance and layering of AW. But I’ve been turned. So I’ve picked just some of my favourite looks and pieces this week from my work and research for Xposé.
In no particular order:
I am obsessed with my denim jacket from H&M’s Studio collection for Spring Summer. I have been wearing it since February and now that the weather is a little warmer it’s coming into it’s own. Now the Studio collection sold out but there are plenty of styles still there. Warehouse have a fab dark denim cropped jacket that will look very trendy with high waisted wide leg trousers. And there’s your nod to the seventies while you are at it!
Oasis x Keds
I got my first pair of Keds in Boston back in 2010. It was winter but I was flying down to Miami for work so I needed a light shoe that wasn’t a Hunter Original wellington which I was living in amongst the snow filled pathways of Boston. And so I was thrilled to see Oasis to team up with Keds resulting in a four piece footwear collection. My favourite style is “The Style Hunter”; an animal print slip on runner that’s super comfortable as well as being stylish. I’m living in these right now. The other three styles are equally as lovely and aptly named, “The Perfectionist”, “The Jetsetter” and “The English Rose” all of which are great shoe options for summer holidays thanks to a mix of designs including a blue and white stripe, and a very pretty floral pattern.
Tommy Hilfiger Hipster love
The minute the SS15 runway images from the Tommy Hilfiger show in New York landed in my inbox, I knew I was going to love it, and everything that would land on the shop floors this season. It’s totally hippy and festival appropriate, and most of all fun. The runway show was a new era for TH I think. It showed off the exceptional design prowess of the label and the creativity it can achieve. For summer the stores are full of khaki jumpsuits, and naturally loads of denim. It’s definitely worth a stop off in your nearest TH stockist or store. My favourite is the flagship on Dublin’s Grafton Street!
Pretty Little Thing!
Last week in Xposé I filmed a great brand called Pretty Little Thing whose website is full of all things trendy. I zoned in on fringing, and put together a mixture of looks basked on navaho-style jackets, fringed skirts as well as accessories. Fringing is certainly a love or loathe trend, but with the right outfit, it can look super chic as opposed to festival-y (not sure if that’s a real word!). You can check out the full collection on the website: prettylittlething.com
