Off the Shoulder tops are such a thing now, am I right? Oh yes they are. If you walk into any high street shop you will be hit with a plethora of shoulder-less tops that are either striped, gingham or floral. It took me a while to come around to the idea that I now had to have very toned shoulders to pull off the look but if you know anything about me and my fitness routine is that I do a lot of arm work so hopefully that’s paying off. There’s going to be a bit of skin on show with this, but thankfully there are so many ways to wear them, and choice of styles. To style up off the shoulder tops, you need to decide which kind you like. My preference is for just some arm coverage whether that’s a strap to hold up the top over my boobs, or just a sleeve on one arm which is what I have chosen today.
I love this look because it’s every day summer wear for me (as you can see from my favourite coffee spot Network on Aungier Street Dublin) . As the top is quite colourful, I’m keeping the jeans lighter in texture (as it’s boiling) and in colour. I was never really a fan of light wash jeans until Penneys began to make high waisted skinnies that have good stretch and some fraying detail at the ends. Now I am totally convinced and they make a nice change from my reliable dark wash ones.
For accessories, you know how I feel about runners? These flatform runners make a salute to a major designer shoe trend without the price tag and having worn them all week, I can safely say they are well comfy. In fact, I’m wearing them to an event tonight I like them that much. You can’t have a look like this without a snazzy hair do, so a big thanks to Lee Stinton at Preen Hair & Beauty for creating this beautiful fish tail plait for me. If only I could do this myself!
Penneys have lot’s of off the shoulder tops right now, and the look I am wearing is available in stores now.
