Getting your make up perfectly perfect for Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be tricky. I’ve been asked a lot lately for my top beauty buys when it comes to occasions and when you read the below you’ll see these aren’t just my Valentine’s Day beauty buys, they are beauty buys for Spring. We all love a new product for the season. There have been so many new products to the market so far in 2017, and to help prioritise what you might need to get beautified on the 14th, here are my picks. And if you want to buy any of the products below, just click on the image (these are affiliate links btw!)
NARS Soft Matte Concealer
Gosh this stuff is magic. NARS recently visited Dublin and I got to try this product first hand. It comes in a little jar and is a thick consistency but it’s not gloopy (I”m sure that’s a real word). I have been wearing “Chantilly” which suits my pale skin and its super for covering any imperfections ahead of date night. Plus, it’s 5 gram jar which will last ages, so it’s great value for under €30.
NYX Strobe of Genius Highlighter Palette
This is such a clever palette for fans of strobing as it offers so many shades to mix and match. I’ve been using this for about six months and in most of my selfies on Instagram, I’m wearing this product. The bottom section of the palette is what I’ve used most, especially the darker shade instead of a bronzer which can look too dark on my pale skin. I apply this with a narrow brush to get right under my cheekbone.
Rimmel Matte Lipstick
A sure thing for date night, this lipstick goes no where once applied. Dinner, drinks and even a goodnight kiss won’t move this. The colour selection is huge, but my favourites include numbers 200 and 700.
Urban Decay Naked Palette
The only palette you need to get yourself ready, the combination of mattes and shimmer is perfect. I have blue eyes so the smokey colours in this suit my colouring. This palette lasts for ages too, so think of it as an investment! In terms of brushes, I use a flat eye shadow brush with a blending brush for application (MAC’s 217 is amazing).
