A trip to the Vanity Rooms

The Vanity Rooms

January blues huh? Yes, we all get them. For some reason the days seem duller in January, the sun doesn’t shine as much, it’s rainy and it gets dark at like 3pm. We have to do something to get us out of the January funk. So no better reason to save for a little treat this month. And I can highly recommend a visit to the Vanity Rooms in the picturesque village of Stepaside, Dublin 18. I’ve long heard about the high standard the salon provides with it’s huge range of treatments, and so I was treated to a very luxurious pedicure using Essie products. The Essie Spa pedicure is divine; you are settled into probably the best massage chair I have every experienced, and once you have a cup of coffee in your hand with an array of magazines you can relax while you enjoy this lovely hour of pampering.

The Vanity Rooms

The treatment starts with a soak of your feet and some of the bits we don’t enjoy so much, like removal of hard skin and a cut of your toenails (I am terrible for not looking after my feet I should add). But it’s all relaxing, even the pumice part! My amazing therapist Shannon talked me through every bit of the way, and told me about each of the products she was using, as well as a good old chat about fashion, working on Xposé and a mandatory gossip. Next up was a lovely mask on my feet which I have never had before. The texture of this Essie product is kind of like putty; it’s thick and moisturising and you can feel it working as it sits on your feet for about ten minutes. Then comes my favourite part; the massage. With a rich and hydrating oil, Shannon gave my poor aching feet a rub and after five minutes of this, I could feel tension leave my feet like never before.

The end of treatment is all about your toes; choosing a nail colour from the vast number of shades and a little wait while they dry completely. After my treatment I was still there chatting for twenty minutes, which was just lovely. I love a good salon experience, and this one tops the list.

I had the Essie Spa Pedicure which costs €60 and you can make your booking or find out more at www.vanityrooms.ie
