I have recently become obsessed with lipstick, but for some reason, it never seems to stay on me for that long, no matter how much I look after them. So this week, my tried and tested post focuses on three brands who make lipstick that is supposed to last!
First up , it’s Stila Colour Balm. This is a moisturising lipstick that promises to stay on. The colour is rich and intense and has a lovely texture. It glides on and despite the shine it gives, it does last a few hours before you need to reapply. Coffee cups also like it so post-hot drink reapplication is needed.
Max Factor have been making Lip Finity products for a while, but have quite a number in the range at present. The colour and gloss due above is the best value as it’s a two in one, whether you want a stronger more matte colour, or want some shine. The colour part is very good, and I found that my lips took to the colour which lasted a few hours again, but didn’t need as much product when I reapplied it. The gloss is light and can be layered over the colour of you like.
The lip tint gives a strong colour but is dryer than the others, as is expected for a lip stain. This one is great for long lasting wear; it literally did not budge. If you keep your lips well moisturised this is the one for you. My favourite of the Max Factor range is the Lip Finity Lip colour on its own, as it has the perfect balance of great colour and staying power.
There has been a lot of hype over Rimmel’s latest product and having tried it, it does live up to expectation. The colour is vibrant and the texture is quite thick so not a lot is needed thanks to the “hollow” lip applicator which releases enough colour for both lips using one application. The staying power is good, but not as good as it’s lip finity competitor I found, but this one is cheaper and is good value for money.
NYC also make a great and very affordable range of lipsticks and this one I reckon is great, it’s called Lip Expert Last, and alongside they’re amazing foundations, this one is perfect for a night out!
