Tommy Hilfiger – A/W 2011 review

I started wearing Tommy girl when I was 16. It must have been the packaging that got every teenager hooked. The stars and stripes inspired box, the sweet scent that the boys loved on girls. It epitomises that time for me. And I guess that it is for that reason that I have always had a soft spot for Tommy. I’ve certainly come a long way since then, and never did I think that I would be heading along to Dundrum Town Centre to the newly renovated store to preview the Autumn/Winter collection as a fashion writer. I guess if you dream big it can sometimes to come true.

Tommy Hilfiger A/W 2011

Tommy Hilfiger has graduated from tradition and has headed towards the contemporary with his latest collection. Infusing heritage and the all American family, each piece screams high end. Chunky knits, flannel shirts, p coats, plaid, cord, tailoring, boat neck jersey tops..I could go on and on here. This is where quality meets afforable pricing too. My eyes gravatated to the boots which are of such a high quality leather, I would nearly have to shield my eyes, and at anything from €165, these are a Winter must have. Also, a range of water proof snow boots (let’s face it we all need these if last year is anything to go by) are €150 and will definitely save you from a cold or drying your toes under the dryer in the office bathroom when the snow arrives.

The mens collection is pretty fabulous too, with some great alternatives to the usual suit and tie combination (although TH suits are of a beautiful standard).

Included here are a taste of just some of the looks on offer, but if you want to see the whole collection, pop along to the store in Dundrum or stores nationwide.
