I have always associated the structured shirt with office wear, a look I never took to, to be honest. But when TM Lewin approached me to do some style posts using some of their most popular shirt styles, I wanted to take on the challenge to make the shirt suitable for my everyday style. What I didn’t know was the range of feminine, softer styles of shirts the brand has available in it’s shops and online. A white shirt is always a staple you should have in your closet, and whether you wear this to work, or to play, there is a way to make it your own!
I opted for a low neck shirt with bow detail to wear under a new white jacket I had added to the late-summer wardrobe. Worn with skinny jeans and some white sandals, this is chic yet casual and a look in which I am really comfortable for a demanding day at work. This shirt also looks great with a pencil skirt for something more formal and I have worn it with an a-line fuller style too. See, it’s really versatile!
Summer clearly doesn’t want to stay with us this year, but this is the kind of piece that is trans-seasonal and will work as a layer under a jacket (like I have styled) or a cardigan or light knit jumper.
