The Black Slip dress is a key item for the season to come. I know, it looks like a nightdress, but it’s how you style it that makes it look less like lingerie and more like day wear. I picked this one up at Oasis and I love it for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s lined and it isn’t a flimsy fabric. There is a bit of structure to it so it hangs nicely just below the knee. Secondly, it has nice lace detail along the chest and the straps. Since it isn’t satin, I feel like it’s more practical. You could even wear this on it’s own. I am using it under a chiffon printed shirt dress I got from Zara about a year ago and I have struggled to find ways to wear it. So, this season I am choosing to wear it open, over this black slip dress, or with another one I have in cream, and styled with boots. The boots were a great buy last Winter from Zara. The block heels means they are sturdy. They are high, so let’s just say I won’t be wearing these all day.
For the details, this choker is one I actually like, as it looks less like the velvet ones I wore when I was a teenager. Now, I have nothing against the velvet styles, I just have this association with them and my school discos which I never enjoyed. My current manicure is my Michele Burke (you can read all about her here) using Gelish which lasts for weeks!
