I really do live in monochrome or some form of black most of the time. I love it. It’s reliable and flattering. Easy. On a casual day when I have mostly desk work to do, and I don’t have to run around, then I keep it relaxed. And this look is probably the most apt example of my go to look. I love jeans. I love jeans. And I really love these jeans. The “Mom” fit was never top of my list but when I got these, that changed. I love the dark stripe which makes wearing a lighter denim more feasible and in tune with my look.
One staple piece that I think every wardrobe should have is a leather jacket. I am always recommending this on Xposé; you can even wear one over an evening dress and make it look cool. This one is a great fit and I like the biker style when it comes to these. This day was particularly cold (I popped out to grab the coffee in my hand) and forgot the wind chill was howling down Dame Street. So, under my sweater is a vest. They are too handy. I have loads and in a few colours depending on the top I am wearing.
You might also noticed I’ve focused in on my accessories in this post too. I always forget to change up my earrings so these ones caught my eye in Penneys for just €3. They are long but nice and light and I love matching gold with monochrome in a casual setting. My style note to self this year is to wear more earrings.
But these boots need a whole paragraph to themselves. A pair of ankle boots will take you anywhere. These are a suedette; so no spending hours with suede protector on these ones, as the fabric won’t wear down like real suede. The wooden heel brings the ankle boot into Spring and I will definitely wear these with mid-length dresses once the weather gets a bit warmer. Whenever that is….
