I am in London often, but I never really get to stay in London if you know what I mean. I stay with friends and family which is always a treat but sometimes it’s nice to be in a hotel right in the heart of it. I recently stayed at the five star Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington which was a really wonderful experience. The hotel is located a five minute walk from the tube station at High Street Kensington making it a superb location to get into the shopping areas, and buzz of central London. But even better is that it is situated right next door to the Royal Parks for strolling which is exactly what I did on a sunny Monday morning.
The hotel not only boasts this exquisite location, but beautiful rooms and restaurants to make your stay even more luxurious. I stayed in a queen room which offered a lovely view of the park next door. The rooms are spacious and are perfect for a city break to London; somewhere to have a nice afternoon nap before planning your evening. Upon arrival there was a fruit bowl which I devoured and a complimentary bottle of water.
What I did find very entertaining was the memorabilia which line the hall walls showing off the various celebrities who have stayed there. I stayed on the same floor as Justin Bieber and he even signed it to prove it! (I posted this on my Instagram!)
Breakfast in The Park Terrace is incredibly relaxing, and alongside the calm room, is a five star service from the staff. Help yourself to a light continental breakfast or indulge in something more substantial like Eggs Benedict which is exactly what I did! You are not rushed, instead, you are encouraged to enjoy your breakkie and set yourself up for your day. I noticed there was a mix of guests from couples on mini breaks, families on holiday to business people talking shop over a cappuccino so the hotel is very much for everyone no matter what the purpose of your stay. It was one of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had in a London hotel!
I have to compliment the hotel on it’s staff who were so nice on check in and when I needed to print my boarding pass and store all my luggage. I generally have a lot of shopping bags as well as an overfilled suitcase. Nothing was to big a task.
If you are planning a weekend in London, or even if you are planning a business trip, I cannot recommmend the Royal Garden Hotel highly enough and I can’t wait to stay there again. Log onto their website and have a look for yourself: www.royalgardenhotel.co.uk
Note: I stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel through BuzzandGo, a hotel service for bloggers. My sincere thanks to Alex and everyone at the hotel for having me.
