I love being casual on a Saturday, and this outfit from Dorothy Perkins is brand new to what I call my “weekend wardrobe”. It’s been a fairly horrible week weather wise in Dublin, so trying to dress is difficult enough, but this mock shearling jacket is so cosy, that once it’s dry, this is a great Spring cover up. I’m embracing the Seventies trends right now, and a mix of denim with caramel shades really pays tribute to the era. Dorothy Perkins are known for relaxed, chic clothes which are reasonably priced so it’s very easy to style up a very on trend outfit.
My OOTD with Dorothy Perkins
A denim skirt is a great investment this year, and I picked this one as it sits high on the waist, but flatters my hips thanks to its a-line cut. The wind liked to get up under it though (as you can see from my pics!). The blouse has a subtle floral print and high neck which I really like for transitional times of the year when you need a bit more coverage. But when the weather gets better I’m going to style this up with white jeans.
But back to the jacket for a second. Shearling is something that I gravitate to towards thanks to it’s major catwalk coverage from Burberry and Chloe last season. But I don’t think it’s a piece that needs to stay in your Winter wardrobe. Try this over a crisp white shirt and new season denim flares to bring it up to date, and as an alternative way to style it to my choice of skirt.
