Cara Delevingne and Topshop? What? Really? Yes, it’s true. One of our favourite high street shops has only gone and got the supermodel of the moment to be the face of their Autumn Winter campaign. I mean, this is just the best news ever. Almost, as good as when I heard about Jamie Dornan playing Christian Grey. Well ok, maybe not at that level of excitement.
The campaign imagery have just been released and every online publication has gone mad for them. Shot in London by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Topshop Creative Director, Kate Phelan, Cara looks relaxed against the backdrop of her home town. Cara’s first appearance for Topshop was in 2010 when she featured in a Kate Moss Topshop campaign video as well as walking in nearly every LFW show since then. One moment I will always remember was Cara’s famed ‘Harlem Shake’ which took place backstage at Topshop UNIQUE AW13; the video clip in which she performs the infamous dance move has had over 1.6million views on YouTube. Cara also became the first model to live-stream content from a runway when she carried a ‘Google-cam’, concealed within a handbag, down the Topshop UNIQUE runway, when Topshop partnered with Google during London Fashion Week. So yeah, she’s the natural choice for the high street giant. But what about the pics?

Kate Phelan is clearly a fan, “Cara is a true Topshop girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual. Putting her spin on everything she makes the Topshop collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free spirited and fun,” adds Kate. Can you imagine working on a shoot like this? Wow, I’d love it!
The collection lands in August 2014.
