Ending my few days at London collections was a front row seat at Matthew Miller, thanks to the lovely people at Timberland who invited me as their guest. Matthew has been on my radar for a while as a designer I am just simply intrigued with. Not to talk technically, or in fashion speak, his work is….put simply…really cool. Clean lines, primary colours, casual takes on classic pieces all add up to a collection that is contemporary and very London. Put perfectly by Claudia Lunati, of Timberland:
“Matthew Miller is a talented designer and we are very excited and honored that he has chosen his own take on our classic boot for his AW13 show. Matthews new interpretation and twist on classic menswear as well as his curiosity for exploring and utilising new fabric technologies, fits well with our mission to equip people to make a difference in their world. His designs show how our iconic craftsmanship, inspired by our past, truly is crafted for today. The best part is that all budding designers and creative talents can take inspiration from Matthews creations and design their own personal unique styles in the comfort of their own homes using our online Design Your Own function.”
Yes, you see that’s the fun part, Matthew’s show featured customised boots from Timberland. Black boots, were designed with red trims to compliment his palate.
Using the brands Design Your Own function the breakthrough menswear designer created four unique styles which mirror the themes of his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection.
Oh and here’s myself and Rosemary McCabe on the FROW!
