My itinerary today was rather nice kicking off London Collections with Topman. Now with the likes of Tinie Tempah, David Gandy, Henry Holland and Ronnie Wood in the FROW, this show was off to a great start! The inspiration around Topman for Autumn Winter 2013 is the “gentleman explorer” with lot’s of parkas and hiking boots in tones from white to orange. This collection is for the brave, and as a brand which is always fashion forward, they are transforming menswear as we know it. To explain this, tailored suits in rich shades of berry were paired with matching three quarter length parka coats, with faux fur trim.
My favourite piece was the finale piece, a full length coat with fur trim.
Despite it’s outlandish direction for next season, this collection struck a chord with me. I like collections that break boundaries with styles and colour and I look forward to seeing how this one is received.
