Latest beauty review with LiZ Earle, Lancome and Philosophy!

Lorna Weightman with Liz Earle

There have been lot’s of fun launches in beauty land over the last week; we see the Christmas products start to creep their way in with lot’s of gift ideas. I’ve also been test driving a new skin routine which has been really amazing and my skin is loving it, as well as new Winter make up to get your party ready. So what have I got for you today?

Philosophy Skin Care

With excessive travelling lately, my poor skin is so dehydrated and feels kinda like sand paper. As a result, it’s breaking out and make up just isn’t sitting right. Now the Bare Minerals primer is certainly helping, but to go deeper than that, I have been using some amazing products from Philosophy which is stocked at Debenhams. First up, the Purity all in one cleanser is truly pure! As it removes make up and all the yuk stuff in your pores, it hydrates and tones. It also takes off the toughest of eye make up. It glides on, and glides off too. I’ve been doing a double cleanse with it, which is working very nicely. Once a week, I am also using the Microdelivery triple acid brightening peel as an “at-home” facial. The peel comes on a pre-treated pad which you wipe across your face and leave on for about ten-fifteen minutes then wash off. They have a nice balance of natural acids as well as a little glycolic to rid your skin of all impurities. In two uses, my skin is smooth and incredibly clear. Well worth trying! To finish I’ve been doing some anti-ageing treatments called Time in  A Bottle which combines vitamin C as an activator to target nasty wrinkles quickly and effectively.

Lancôme Winter Limited Edition make up range

Lancome Winter limited edition collection

On my desk right now!

Entitled Parisian Lights, this new range from Lancome is glamorous and perfect for party season. It includes a new loose powder called Poudre de Lumiere (€45) which is super fine and brings a nice glow to the skin. The new Hypnose eye palette (€48) will allow you to create a subtle smokey eye in new shades inspired by the gold of the Place Vandome in Paris. And of course there are new nail colours (€19)! The collection will be available from November 2014.

Liz Earle Rose Pelargonium Necklace by Boodles

Lorna Weightman with Liz Earle

Me with the lovely Liz Earle at The Merrion Hotel

I was thrilled to meet Liz Earle today to hear about her new venture with Boodles, to launch a specially designed necklace, the profits from it’s sale going to the Shining Faces orphanage in India. “Rose Pelargonium is the most sweetly scented of the geranium family”‘ says Liz, “with a wonderful, rose-like aroma which comes from an ingredient called geraniol contained in the plant’s leaves. The oil is produces is very versatile and an amazing ingredient for both fragrance and for skincare as it possesses wonderfully soothing and toning properties”. Liz was in Dublin to globally launch the necklace (how chuffed was I to be there and sit next to her at breakfast!). With every purchase of the necklace at Boodles, each customer will receive a luxurious botanical hamper which contains the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, the Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash and the No.100 botanical essence all of which contain rose-scented geranium. The necklace will retail at €1,950 and will be available at Boodles from 17th November.
