A time for Floral Prints and Smiles

The weather is still cold but I am embracing the bright mornings and long evenings. Plus I am trying to vary my style a bit to try new ways of dressing and one such thing is wearing floral prints. I’ve gone through a bit of a body transformation over the last year, with an injection of training to make myself fit again. I discovered when I hit 30 that I couldn’t eat what I wanted to anymore; so when I had a slice of cake I was guaranteed to see it on my hips or tummy. I had to work hard to keep myself in shape. And by that I mean the shape and size I wanted to be. I’ve lost inches through toning, and I have more body confidence to wear more fitted styles and, you know, show off a bit! I’ve decided I love dresses and I stick to styles that have a nice defined waist which is so flattering. I also love midis and maxis now which I never did before. Floral prints were never my thing either, but I’m embracing the prettiness, but balancing the look with a leather jacket. It’s ok to mix it up. I was never a fan of “matchy matchy”; I get over this by mixing fabrics, textures and cuts to make my looks more undone. I can’t say that I am all the way there yet, but I certainly feel so much stronger, and now is the time to try new clothes to see what works for me now, in my current “self”. So expect to see more dresses, a little bit more leg and the odd cut out dress over the summer from me.

I also have to say a special thank you to all my followers for the kind comments on my instagram posts where I have been showing the results of my fitness journey. You’re all awesome.
