The Bell Sleeve is adding a new detail to the most plain tops and dresses this season. I was dubious at first, but now I love it. It’s the prettiest detail. You may have seen from this blog post that I tried out the Penneys denim jacket (soon to hit the shops) and it was such a hit on my Instagram, so I decided to do a little edit of some the nicest pieces I could find. To try the trend, the best start is through tops in block colours. This blue Dorothy Perkins top is an easy one to style and will look great with some light wash ripped denims for the summer. If a brighter colour is your thing go for the Red Boohoo Bell Sleeve Top which is a good length for wearing with anything high waisted like a pencil skirt (a workwear option perhaps?). For your summer hols, look to the playsuit; Topshop’s Petrol Blue Playsuit is a cute option to go with gladiator style sandals and some hair braids. Print hasn’t escaped this look either; the bell sleeve works with florals simply because it adds to the 70s vibe. Go for Boohoo’s Printed Mini dress or Closet London’s Floral Shirt for two pretty options that won’t break the bank. If you want to invest in something for the year and not just for summer, then black is the go-to. & Other Stories Lace Shirt is a timeless piece that will work with jeans or skirts throughout the year. Be bold and wear over a bra-lette or a simple cami.
