Foundations for pale skin

Foundations for pale skin

I constantly google foundations for pale skin to see what comes up. When it comes to the paler shades, sometimes “fair” and “ivory” are still too dark for my ghost like skin. As you might have read on my previous posts, I also have some issues with redness (read my Renew posts here) so coverage is also something I have to take into account. So between shade matching, coverage and consistency to cater for dry areas, it’s a lot to ask of a foundation. But I have done extensive research and come up with some foundations for pale skin that really are for, well, pale skin. I’ve given my views on a couple below, but you can scroll through the gallery here, and even buy them if you like! (Yep, they are affiliates!)

MAC Mineralise (NC15 0r NC20)

To cater for my cooler tones and the dryness I experience after peels or laser, I go to this one. It has a luminous finish on the skin and honestly it just glides on. I found this by accident when I was perusing the MAC counter at the airport one day, and spotted this. I’m now a convert from the old reliable Studio Fix which is now too heavy for my fine skin. MAC have always impressed with me with their colour ranges and either of the above shades work for me. The accompanying powder is also excellent.

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear (0021)

I hadn’t used a Lancôme foundation in years but last week I went to meet make up artist for the brand, Fortunato Benavoli, to do a colour match and hear all about the re branding of this really popular make up. Not only is Fortunato now my BFF (follow hime on instagram here), we found the perfect shade for me. This has a velvety finish so it’s great for nights out, and it comes in 40 shades which is brilliant to hear.

Rimmel Match Perfection (Classic Ivory or Light Porcelain)

The old reliable foundations for pale skin are always from Rimmel. They make the only ivory shade that really is ivory, I believe. I apply this with my fingers as it gives a dewy finish and this one lasts all day. I wear this mostly for TV, so my Xposé appearances always include this must have foundation. Plus, the price makes it affordable. Rimmel always deliver; the quality of the product is second to none in it’s price range.
