Top of the metallics

Top of the metallics

This season metallics are all around us and without looking like a Christmas decoration, we need to approach this trend with a little trepidation. One thing I like to do with metallics, is opt for something with a matte look to it, as opposed to high shine fabric or foil like appearance. By treading carefully, you can opt for a more subtle look to the trend but hit it all the same.

Look one, is to go for jeans. I am a fan of gold but nothing too 80s. These ones from Penneys available later this month are skinny, well fitted and will look great with a big black chunky knit and can be worn with some brogues or flats if you prefer.

collection at €109 and it’s perfect for a Christmas party. Plus I think with some killer platform ankle boots and black tights, it can look super glam.

Littlewoods Ireland Holly Willoughby dress €109

Look three takes it to accessories. These shoes from Schuh are great if you are wearing something simple and want to add something colourful. Statement pieces like shoes are a huge YES this season and these ones hit the spot!

Schuh Princess Panel Wedges €100

And lastly, and something on my wish list for casual wear, is this metallic panelled top from ASOS (£40) will look great with jeans, leather shorts, or even just leggings. It’s really versatile and make for a casual or dressy look.

So there you have it, my pick for metallics this season! Get shopping!
