I’m trying to eat a healthy breakfast at the moment so I am re-evaluating what I eat. So I had to start from the beginning and look at the start of the day and how I can improve the quality of my breakfast (I cried when I got rid of the coco pops). After a run on Sunday with my friend Katie (from the blog TNFashionLove) who is a great source of all things healthy food, we popped along to the supermarket to restock the kitchen with some good food! So what changes have I made? Well my day is now starting with a smoothie, (recipe by me!) which is tasty and most importantly good for me. It definitely does not taste of lawn.

What’s in it?
-
One banana (it helps with energy for me anyway)
-
Handful of raspberries
-
Handful of blueberries
-
Two tablespoons of low fat natural yogurt (I like Glenilen Farms yougurt!)
-
Some almond milk (a generous pour)
-
I dessertspoonful of flaxseed (I’m not sure what this is yet, but Katie says it’s a great source of vitamins!)
You don’t need a smoothie maker, just an old fashioned blender. In no particular order, chuck the lot in the blender and zap it. Put into a glass and drink!
PS – if you don’t have fresh fruit, buy them fresh but freeze them in freezer bags, in line with my recipe. You can blend from frozen, it’s ok!
Give it a try and let me know what you think! Bear in mind, I am not a qualified nutritionist!
