Hackett Spring Summer 2015

There is no doubt that Jeremy Hackett is a gentleman, and he translates every aspect of this to his impeccably styled shows and Spring Summer 2015 is no exception. Sipping a cocktail in the afternoon sunshine at London’s Honourable Artillery Company, there was no place more civilised on Monday. Sitting on a deck chair (with David Gandy sitting near by in all his loveliness) I could happily have sat in the world of Hackett for the rest of the week. Sorry, now I’m daydreaming….Back to the clothes.

Entitled ‘Gentlemen’s Sport’, the new 27-look Hackett Spring Summer 2015 collection pays homage to the great sporting events of the British summer calendar and puts the stylish male spectator centre stage. Polo is a strong theme with a colour palette of bone, off-white and cream. As put so eloquently in the press release: “Soft summer tweeds, in Hackett’s signature tailoring, offer the perfect backdrop for this neutral palette. Knitted polo shirts offer a casual formality and a modern ease of dressing”.

Staying with sport, the famous Henley Regatta featured heavily as inspiration. Accessories stood out for me here, especially the piping detail across the bag collection. The finale was most entertaining when the regal presence of Jeremy walked the catwalk surrounded by models posing as polo players. Oh yes, this is the world I want to live in.
