Fashion week makeup looks

fashion week makeup looks

My fashion week makeup looks for this season were sponsored by Note Cosmetics and Sleek Make up, and I was thrilled to work with two great brands that are not only quality products, but really very affordable. In case you haven’t heard of them, Note Cosmetics is new to Ireland and comes from the makers of NYX (they sold the brand and have now developed a new one). Note is a pharmacy brand which you’ll be seeing pop up around the country over the year. I got to use nearly all of the line at London Fashion Week and so I really put it through its paces. Sleek is now a household name in make up, thanks to some of its super fans like the lovely Pixiwoos who introduced me to the wonders of the iDivine palette. But, they have a new lippie launching called Matte Me which is tapping into the matte trend. I love matte lipsticks so I was delighted to get a first glimpse of this before it hits the shelves. Thanks to everyone who was looking at my Snapchat and Instagram over fashion week and for the comments you left on my make up looks. So, to help you get the fashion week makeup looks I was going for, I thought I would share with you the products I was using.

I love BB creams but my face likes to drink them up, so I tend to use these instead of a primer. I went with the BB Cream (€11.95) as my first layer as an alternative to moisturiser which doesn’t help my make up’s staying power when I am on the go. I applied this with my fingers to give it a nice natural finish. Then it was onto the Mineral Foundation (€12.95) which I am using at the moment since I am having skin peels so my skin is feeling a bit dry.

The iDivine palette (€10.99) from Sleek Make up is just about magical. I started most days with a gold layer applied with my finger tip and then added a purple over it to give an updated smokey eye without being too dark for daytime. For liner I used the Note Cosmetics Precision Liner (€9.95) to get right in at the lash line and also draw a flick easily. This kind of liner is great if you want a look to last all day. On top of this I smudged in the Smokey Eye Pencil on top of this to give a more “worn” look that isn’t too perfect. The product I was most impressed with was the Long Lash Mascara (€8.95) that hugs every lash and most importantly, does not budge. No transfer at all, even on my oily lids.

Staying with the mineral products, the Mineral Blush is a highly pigmented product for it’s price (€14.95). You need to watch the application of this as it does go on a little heavy. So use a smaller blusher brush and only tip it off the product and apply to the apples of your cheeks. I found also that needs blending so swap then for a bigger brush to blend outwards.

The new Matte Me lip cream from Sleek Make up ( €6.99) goes on with one application and air dries to a nice matte finish that isn’t drying. What I love about matte lips is that there is little to no transfer throughout the day. I did re apply to keep up the colour for photographs, but for everyday wear this is ideal. I loved “French Fancy” which I was wearing in all my snapchats.
