An Easy Evening Make Up Look

evening make up look

I love spending ages doing my makeup when I have the time that is. This evening makeup look was easy to do, it just takes a little bit of time. But I was on holiday so I guess I can allow myself the time to perfect it, right? Starting with the base, I used the new PS PRO Illuminating Highlighter first, concentrating on my cheeks, the middle of my forehead and the bridge of my nose, as well as my cupid’s bow and a dot on my chin. I tap the product in so that it does it’s job without rubbing it in too heavily. Next, I applied Rimmel Match Perfection (Ivory) with a flat brush to apply, then I blended with the Real Technique’s Stippling Brush to even it all out. I dust on Charlotte Tilbury AirBrush Flawless Finish Powder (No. 1 Fair) to set the look.

Then onto highlight and a little contouring for this evening make up look. I adore Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow (Light to Medium) and using her own Powder and Sculpt brush I apply the bronzer beneath my cheekbones and blend upwards towards my ears on both sides. I also apply this lightly to my jawline and temples. As I’ve used an illuminating highlighter as a primer, I don’t want to add more shine so I apply this sparingly. Then for my cheeks, it’s Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duo which lasts for ages by the way. So that’s my skin done!

Eyes are actually the easiest part here. I am using H&M’s Eye Shadow Palette in Ready, Set, Glow which has some lovely mattes and shine depending on what you want. I start with cream to cover my eye lid, and then I start to blend the browns into my crease using a MAC 217 brush, until I have the desired depth of colour. These palettes are great value too (under €15) and they do last a long time without drying. I’ve had mine a year! I apply some mascara, in this picture I have used Maybelline Lash Essential Washable mascara which is one of my favourite affordable mascaras around. It dries quickly so if you want to add a second coat, apply this straight after the first.

My lips I keep neutral for this look so that my eye make up can do all the work. I line with Topshop Lip Contour (Frame) and then apply MAC lipstick (Cosmo). And voilá, there is my evening make up look!
