Have you met Paloma? Well let me introduce you. The Christian Louboutin Paloma bag is classic tote design but with a few lovely features. Firstly, it has its own feet. Yes you read that correctly. She stands on small pedestals (“heels”); now this not only looks very nice, but it serves a purpose. The leather will never touch the ground saving its fabric from wear and tear.
The handles have been inspired by showgirl legs; so remember that when you see someone carry it or if you fancy treating yourself. The handles are placed just so to let the bag elegantly drape on your forearm and I found myself enjoying this experience when I was shooting these photos last week just of St. Stephen’s Green. This particular design of Paloma is from the current collections and has a few decadent features that distinguish it from its predecessors including panel embroidery, which is incredibly colourful.
The bag has several pockets; it’s a lovely design for work and fits an iPad nice a securely. The Christian Louboutin Paloma makes a statement and it needs a dark canvas to make it pop. On a dark, dull and wet day in Dublin, such a backdrop is easy to locate. Against the cobbles the tangerine leather, embroidery and studded features come alive. And in terms of my own outfit, I’m in my usual uniform of jeans, a top (but a little splash of pink) and a classic leather jacket. I had to add something over the top, so I went for these drop earrings (they’re from H&M and also come in yellow). Since working with this bag, I’ve had so many compliments on it. I think it’s incredibly special and it’s opportunities like this where I have to pinch myself, and remind myself, that I am actually working with one of my favourite designers of all time and I get to this for my job.
This Paloma bag is €1550 and is available at the newly renovated Christian Louboutin boutique on the 1st floor of Brown Thomas Dublin and the beauty boutique is located on the ground floor.
