Best Beauty Buys for the Bank Holiday Weekend

Fancy a beauty treat? Well here are my best beauty buys for the bank holiday weekend to get you ready for some chill out time, or party time!

In no particular order, other than that this is how they are currently lined up on my desk!

1. Loubi Under Red

Christian Louboutin Nails

So this is rather clever! CL recently launched their first range of nail colour and now this little gem of a product has made it’s way to Ireland. Loubi Under Red lets you add the signature Rouge Louboutin Nail Colour discreetly to the underside of your nails, similar to the red soles or boldly to your nail surface.  It is a fine, tailored, flexible, felt-tip pen-like applicator (smaller brush than that of the Rouge Louboutin) for ultimate precision to achieve the “under red” effect under the nails, or to create a design over the nails.  The nail colour travels to the tip without saturating it, giving you the control and ease to create your own designs. Pretty cool, huh? Get yourself some at Brown Thomas!

2. NYC HD Colour Quattro eye shadows

If you want good pigment from your eyeshadows these ones are a steal! Lovely sultry dark pigments that are velvety to apply will help you create day time and evening time make up looks. I love “A kiss on the Hudson” with it’s deep mauve, soft pink and lovely taupe and cream shades to highlight. If you apply these with a flat brush and lightly press the colour to your eye lids, it definitely lasts longer! Don’t forget to use an eye primer first! These palettes are just £2.99/€3.79!

3. Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel

Rimmel Brow Styling Gel

I am currently obsessed with my brows. If I have no make up on, once the brows are on and I have a dash of mascara I feel like I can tackle the day. The new Rimmel brow gel is a brilliant product. It has a nice pigment in lots’ of shades depending on your hair colour, and it glides on easily without getting clunky. My trick is to you draw around the outline of your brows with a pencil and then fill in with the gel. Ta-dah, the perfect brow!

4. Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Colour (in Pink Suga)

Wet n wild mega last lipstick

Since becoming the Irish ambassador for Wet n Wild I have been trying out the entire range, and one of my favourite products are their lipsticks that have amazing pigments in them. One personal favourite shade is Pink Suga in the mega last lipstick range. Now, it’s a skin coloured shade, but I love to mix this with a gloss to create a high shine, but long lasting lip stain. Line your lips first with a pinkish lip pencil. Take a clear gloss and squeeze out some onto the bullet of the lipstick and give it a stir with a lip brush. Apply your home made mixture onto your lips and trust me, this will look perfect for a natural lip colour.

5. Oskia Skincare

Stocked at Space NK in Dublin, Oskia is the latest natural beauty brand to catch my eye. I had a great chat about how Oskia is made with founder Georgie Cleeve last week when she came to visit us. The range is based on a natural mineral called MSM, a bio-available form of sulphur) which acts as the key collagen booster ingredient in the range. So far, Oskia has won over 27 beauty awards making it a popular name in the beauty industry, and at just €28 for it’s cleanser it’s very well priced too!
