Beauty Reviews

YSL Rose Glow Collection

Oh this is just, well, lovely! I’ve been trying the Rose Gold Blusher which is a fuchsia powder blush with just the right amount of sparkle. In some miraculous way, the brush picks up exactly the right amount of product for a perfect pinky glow on your cheeks. I even think this works without contouring, just to put the idea out there! It’s €40 and available now!

Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balm

We all know the keep calm posters right? Well Rimmel are so inspired they now have a lipbalm with the saying! It’s totally enriched with lovely oils in a little bullet to keep your lips nice and soft. My lips really dry out in this humidity so I’ve found these little things are gems! The colours are lovely (and not bright) from nude to pink and at €2.99 you can’t go wrong. Available from this month.

Halle Berry Wild Essence

Not the first person I would turn to for a  fragrance, but Halle Berry’s new one is rather floral and easy on the nose. With a top note that is a sparkling citrus burst of light fresh mandarin zest and Sicilian bergamot, once it settles its a fresh mid season fragrance perfect for the beach holiday. Will also not break the bank at €19.95 making it a star buy in this month’s beauty reviews!

Giorgio Armani Eye and Brow Maestro

This waterproof cream formula is Armani’s first eye shadow cream and is quite an invention for it’s “solid to cream to solid” capabilities. The trick to apply it as indicated by Linda Cantello, International Make Up Artist for the brand is to use a shade darker than your brows and apply with a brush to lift the brow line. As an eyeshadow, wear whatever colour takes your fancy and as a liner, go for a very dark shade and apply in a thin line. It’s very multi-functional! Available exclusively to Brown Thomas Dublin and Cork for €31, and matching brush, €24.

I can get to work, fluff out the helmet head, and it looks like I didn’t bike to work.
