Beauty Review with MAC, Tom Ford & Smashbox

I have had my eye on a few new products over the last few weeks that I have been dying to try. The first is MAC’s new foundation, called Matchmaker, which is designed to give a true to life shade match with a nice, natural sheer coverage. The delivery system is very unique. The foundation is on a sponge that you can push a brush or another sponge onto to get exactly the right amount needed. The coverage is build-able which I love depending on how my skin is behaving. I tried this on Saturday night for a dinner date so I used a Beauty Blender to apply it. It’s a lovely light finish which allowed my skin to breath while giving a coverage that is perfect for night time. It’s well worth a try if you are fond of MAC’s other products like Studio Fix which has long been a favourite of mine.

Next up is a fabulous product from Tom Ford Beauty from the new Soleil Colour collection. The Sheer Cheek Duo is truly one of the nicest blush products I have ever used, and I was delighted to try a sample given to me at their recent Beauty preview at the Merrion Hotel Dublin. This gives a light finish that reflects the light perfectly, even on my very pale skin which I always find hard. I used both colours in the duo together and I finished with a sweep of the soft pink to highlight my cheekbones. This is a product to lust after, so add it to your beauty wish list for the summer. (I’ll be blogging a lot more about this collection as I am obsessed with it!)

Smashbox have become a firm favourite of mine thanks to their super eye brow products. The Brow Tech Gloss Stick is a great product to shape and draw on a natural looking brow. My brow hairs are so fair that I have to draw them on, but I have struggled to make them look natural. Until now. This one is great for pale skin and fair haired beauty lovers, as the blonde shade is a good colour match.
