I have been playing around with my make up look for a couple of weeks. Autumn Winter beauty routines need to cater for a colder climate but still give a glow that comes more naturally in the summer months. Rather than completely warm my make up now in terms of tone, I am starting it gradually, by adding some warmer shades as a base underneath my foundation, and adding in darker berry shades on my eyes, which will gear up to going along the grungy look this autumn winter.
My day time look is staying quite natural, starting with a matifying primer in the form of the Olay Instant Hydration and Wrinkle smoother, this helps balance the texture of my skin and helps make my foundation last longer. Now I have no idea if this is the exact use of this product, but it’s working for me in this way. Foundation wise I am in love with YSL LA Teinte Touche éclat. It glides on and will last the whole day without reapplying. To set this, I am lightly adding Bare Minerals Finishing Powder just to make sure nothing budges. I’m keeping my eyes light, with a Buff eyeshadow palette in Bottled Blonde which has shimmery nude and brown tones to offset the blue in my eyes. Then it’s just a case of adding some mascara, which is currently another Bare Minerals product, Lash Domination in Intense Black. I complement all of this with a dusting of blush from Bobbi Brown, called Pink Coral which is a nice peachy colour. Lips, I keep plain, with a nude matte lipstick from the Rouge Allure Velvet range and just a little gloss from Buff called Puff-Piece.
And not to forget to mention my nails which I have been having done at Sugar Dolls, in Awear on Grafton Street Dublin. My favourite autumn winter beauty look for my nails is a rich pink with some metallic to keep it trendy. Pop down to the nail bar and experience the lovely nail treatments!
