The fusion of fashion and sport is heating up right now as Adidas launch its Originals range available at Life Style Sports. I have years of memories of wearing Adidas as a teenager. Summers in the Ghaeltacht, prior to which, mother brought me shopping to deck myself out in sporty clothes for my two weeks on Achill island. I headed off to Mayo with a green and red Adidas hoodie, those tracksuit bottoms with the buttons up the side and, my favourite, a monochrome matching tracksuit. I was a walking advertisement for the brand. And don’t even get me started on my collection of trainers/sneakers/runners. So let’s just say that this range is brining me back down memory lane.
The monochrome is still very much a key note in the Originals range, the LA trainer sweater (€50) is awesome, and I can imagine styling that up with skinny jeans and a pair of black and yellow sneaks (€70). And don’t be afraid to take the fashion up a notch with this, and style the sweatshirt with a printed pencil skirt and heels to inject some street style (a look I am LOVING right now).
As you can see, Varsity is a trend that is still among us, and we love a bit of varsity at styleisle. This is a very laid back kind of trend, with athletics written all over it in oversized numbers on t-shirts, styled with leggings or shorts. All you need is the high tops to finish off the look.
Red is also a key colour, and weather you want something sleeveless or more of t-shirt, there are plenty to choose from. My edit includes, the Torsion dress (€48) which looks absolutely awesome over the matching leggings (€30), and the LA trainer tank which I’m hoping to wear pretty soon if the weather keeps up (€28).
The full collection is available at Life Style sports at its 63 stores nationwide (apparel in 30 stores) but you can also shop the collection online at www.lifestylesports.com check it out!
