A WINTER COAT EDIT

I tidied out my wardrobe last weekend and realised that I have a penchant for coats. In fact, I have tens of them. But it showed me what I consider a winter staple hence why I am writing a winter coat edit this week. If you plan on making the investment, try a couple of different things. Firstly, a classic camel coat will always work and we have Max Mara to thank for that all those years ago. Simple, single breasted cuts suit all shapes and I like to leave them open to show off a nice knit underneath. Next, it is the season of faux fur; break away from the old reliable black and try neutrals, berries and mixed colours on this seasonal favourite. The trench will never fail you and that’s probably why Burberry have been producing and re producing theirs for so long too. A cream will match everything, but I rather like black for a trench, I think it looks rather chic. The teddy coat is sticking around from last season and most high street shops have created a version. The typical look is oversize, but I think some definition can make it look more dressy, so I’ve added in a longline style below in this winter coat edit.
