If I was going to Paris Fashion Week, this is something I would check out. Fashion and film are first cousins and the festival titled, “A Shaded View On Fashion Film”, aka ASVOFF, explores the varying talent from film makers to artists, to photographers and designers, through the medium of film.

The three day festival takes you on a cinematic journey of 30 second short films which feature some of the world’s most renowned designers and celeb names, Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain, Undercover, Miu Miu, Comme des Garcons, Maison Martin Margiela, House of Holland, Stephen Jones, Prada, Dries Van Noten, Charlie le Mindu, Calvin Klein & Gareth Pugh. The highlight of the whole thing for me is the Q&A with the one and only icon, Daphne Guinness on life in fashion and oh my goodness the questions I would put to her!

This event eptiomises what fashion, film and the whole artistic world is all about…creativity. This year’s festival has attracted over 103 submissions which is overwhelming and it certainly draws your attention to how fashion is perceived and conceived, but notably, how it is presented to the masses through a creative vehicle.
